Wild Textiles by Alice Fox
Textile artist Alice Fox shows how to work with found, foraged, gathered and grown materials to create fabulous textile pieces that are inspired by, and made from, nature. She encourages crafters to be open minded and experimental, using local (and sometimes) unconventional materials, working with the seasons and learning what materials are available at different times of year to ground artists in natural cycles and integrate creative activity with a strong sense of place and character.
Alongside advice on growing your own plants (such as flax or nettles) for creative work, the book is packed with practical ideas for foraging � from weeds, dandelions and other plants useful for making cordage, or leaves that can be stitched, quilted and shaped into vessels, to grass, wool, plastics and mud that can be gathered and delightfully repurposed by the textile artist. Other ideas for found materials include stones, shells and wood that can be wrapped or woven into, as well as a multitude of urban treasures that find a new life in creative hands.
Delivery
We dispatch as fast as possible direct from stock. Orders placed before 12 noon are dispatched the same working day.
FREE CLICK AND COLLECT is available from our Wapping Wharf, Bristol or Quaker Friars, Bristol stores. You'll be given the option during check out

Items listed as available to order are not in stock however are usually available within 1-2 weeks. If you order these items we will contact you as soon as possible to confirm an estimated delivery timescale.

Stock levels are advertised on our website. If a stock error should occur we will try to contact you as soon as possible. If you need more than the stock available please call us and we can give you an estimated delivery
Next day courier services are delivered on working days i.e. Monday - Friday except Bank Holidays.
SMS Alerts: most of our delivery companies can provide SMS alerts if you include a valid mobile number when ordering.
Returns
Damages in Transit - Inform Us Within 48 Hours
As per our terms and conditions, all damages in transit must be reported to us within 48 hours of receipt to enquiries@fig1.co.uk. We can then work out the best way to help you or provide a replacement. We therefore ask you to carefully check your order as soon as it arrives.
Unwanted Items - Our 14 Days Return Policy
We understand that sometimes an item arrives and it’s not quite suitable for what you needed it for - no problem. Please email us first at enquiries@fig1.co.uk to discuss the details.
