Fig. 1 is an independent home and gift shop that aims to promote unusual items from small producers.

Founded in 2007, fig. 1 is based in Totterdown, Bristol - an area of brightly coloured houses which tumble down the hill like discarded building blocks. Totterdown is packed with energy and peopled by those who make and do. Fig. 1 aims to give something different back to this vibrant community and to export some of the good stuff we've got here outside of Totterdown via our Internet shop.

As a new venture we're still finding our feet, seeing what works and what doesn't and, though we will sell some widely available items, we are hoping to produce our own cards, posters, small furniture and stained glass works and hope to expand this to a good collection of things you can't get anywhere else.

We're also concerned about the sustainability of what we do. We believe that quality products both pay for themselves and cost less to the environment. We try to consider how our products are packaged and how locally they are produced. We welcome comments and suggestions on ways to improve our environmental impact via our contact us page.
